First assigned to RVSM (Reparto Volo Stato Maggiore), and from 1975 as SM-53 with 302°Gruppo/RVSM. Became 31-53 306°Gruppo TS/31°Stormo from June 1978 and flew like that up to May 1985. The Piaggio crashed during an emergency landing on Venezia-Tessera on 15 September 1993, all three crewmembers were killed. The wreck of the aircraft was noted at Treviso-Sant'Angelo from late 1998 to mid-2005.
