Former Texas Air Beech 99 N22AT joined the Colgan Airways fleet in April 1971. A year later it was registered N99CA. Sold when the airline merged with Presidential Airways in 1988, the aircraft, maintaining the N99CA registration, would fly with Chaparral Airlines on a short lease (August 1988 - January 1989). After subsequent leases to Alpine Air Express, the airline would buy the aircraft in 1994. It was later stored at Provo, UT and the registration cancelled in 2018.

Seen in the livery it wore before Colgan became New York Air Connection. Other regns were SE-KOH and CP-??? with the Bolivian Ministry of Defense.

Seen departing off runway 33, this well travelled 99 was also registered N3149W, ZS-UAS, N444JJ, N149CJ, C-FIRC, HP-1230HP and C-GKKB.

Only 3 months old in this shot, with an Empire F-28 passing overhead. A large variety of commuter airlines operated into DCA in many different liveries before all the affiliations and acquisitions considerably reduced their numbers.

Colgan's first aircraft, ex Air Texas, re-registered N99CA shortly after this picture was taken. Was at CMH for avionics work.
