On the USCAR for Helicarrier USA, probably after its assignment with the shown Chilean operator. The logo above the registration is that of the Corporación Nacional Forestal (CONAF), also in Chile. Built in 1968 as an S-61L and certified as such at least until 2013; on the register as an S-61N at the photo date and in fact a modified version, the Shortsky.

Back home on the Island after a fire fighting stint in the Interior

Flying first with New York Airways from 1968 - 1977, this S-61 moved to Canada around 1979 for Okanagan. Later flying with Canadian Helicopters, Coulson Aircrane and Sunwest Helicopters, there was also a 2 year stint with the State of Utah (N614RM) from March 1994 - 1996 . After returning from the USA the helicopter received the HeliPro Shortsky conversion which shortened the fuselage by 50 inches and improved the lifting capability by 1,000 lbs. Sold to Carson Helicopters as N448JS in 2011.

NYA offered scheduled helicopter service from atop the Pan Am Building in Midtown Manhattan to airports in the area. Founded in 1949, an accident in 1977 on top of the Pan Am building precipitated the closure of this heliport; the airline stopped operating two years later. This S-61 was later N614RM and C-GJDR, now flying logging operations with Sunwest helicopters in rebuilt shortened form.
