Official Lufthansa photo CH341/6/19, stamped Boeing 707 Intercontinental Jet on back. Delivered 3 February 1960 as the first 707 for Lufthansa, still with short tail and without tail fin which were modified soon after. Pearl Air 9Q-CRT early 1977, used as freighter without cargo door. Damaged beyond repair Sanaa 9 August 1977 in hard landing.

Visible on the visitor's terrace is CASA 352L (Ju-52) D-CIAS.

"Hamburg" was a RR Conway-powered 707-430 delivered to Lufthansa in February 1960 and serving until January 1977. Here it wears the early colour scheme with a white fin.

Pearl Air had only just acquired this ex-Lufthansa 707 when it turned up in Sydney. The aircraft was damaged in a landing accident at Sana'a, Yemen, on August 9 the same year. Repairs were abandoned as too expensive.
