This aircraft originally had Three Gypsy Majors but was re-engined with Continentals.

Owned and operated by TAA on RFDS work. Sold to the RFDS in 1959 and later reregistered VH-FDT. Drovers underwent continual upgrading. It was a Mk2 at time of this photo. Photo from TAA.

EOO commenced service with Island Air 1 October 1972. The exact date of this photo was not recorded unfortunately but it was in 1973.

TAA is cited as the source of this photo and the year 1952. VH-DRE was delivered in April 1952 with variable-pitch de Havilland propellers. After three incidents of prop blades failing, one fatal, Drovers were grounded in September 1952. They were fitted fixed-pitch Fairey-Reed props, as seen in the photo, and new load charts were issued in December 1952 to allow operations to recommence. The photo location is not 100% certain but appears to be the eastern side of Mascot (now Sydney Kingsford Smith) airport near the TAA maintenance hangars.

VP-PAP was sold in Australia as VH-EOO in September 1970. The style of the titles "Air Melanesiae" was to satisfy the dual languages of the then colonial condominium of New Hebrides, ruled jointly by the UK and France - Melanesia in English and Melanesie in French. On independence the nation became Vanuatu.

VH-EOO was registered in September 1970 after a short stint in New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) as VP-PAP. It had been previously VH-FDT with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. -EOO was withdrawn from use in 1974 and ended up with the Adelaide Airport fire service.
