This EC-121 is on display at the very interesting Museum of Aviation. She was retired from the US Navy and ferried to MASDC during Aug.1979 for storage with the PCN/Inventory No. 5C0108. She was transferred to the USAF inventory as CK0224 during Sep. 1982.
The EC-121K suffered quite a bit of damage as the result of Hurricane Ivan. Its rudders, flaps, ailerons were damaged and its upper radome blown completely off. A replacement radome was salvaged from Tucson resident EC-121H 53-535 and, with the exception of the ailerons, repairs have been completed.
135753 was operated by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. Its upper radome has been zapped with a kangaroo stencil at one the RAAF bases it visited. In that era no visitor escaped being zapped, which was often performed under the cover of darkness.
