This An-2 was originally delivered to MÉM Rep. Szolgálat as a An-2R in January 1980. It is in immaculate condition and pictured in its hangar at LHGD. I was very lucky as on this day the Pope was visiting Budapest and so a no-fly zone was implemented over and around Budapest. Therefore, the airfield superintendant had no real duties that day and so he kindly accompanied me into this hangar.

The aircraft was one of a number of WW 1 replicas built by Electric Television Holdings Inc. in the USA for use in the 2006 movie "Flyboys" which was being filmed at RAF Halton at the time of the photograph. The fake military serial N1524 was applied to the left hand side of the rudder.

This aircraft came to Australia from Singapore. Its c/n has been wrongly identified in some sources as a DH Australia's DHA1035 which is currently VH-EFZ. VH-BDX's actual c/n is not known. Tony Arbon photo.

In a rather unconventional move in the aviation industry, St Gallen Altenrhein Airport started to operate its own airline in 2011. The name "People's Airlines" is derived from the airport's brand "People's Airport". OE-LMK - currently the airline's sole aircraft - is based in Altenrhein from where it mainly flies scheduled flights to Vienna. However, charter flights are also offered if the schedule allows. For a while, People's actually operated a second EMB-170 registered OE-LTK but had to let it go in 2020 due to the Covid-19 situation.

Resting at Palma platform to start operations on a third level airline failed project. The idea was to perfom inter island and mainland to Balearic islands service with this Short 360 and later with an ATR-42 (ex DAT).

This RJ had completed its flights for the day, a rotation to St. Gallen (ACH), and is pictured being towed to a remote stand for parking. The plane was originally delivered in November 2006 to Finnair as OH-LEO.
