First flown in October 1953 and served 38, 37 & 42 Sqdns and ASWDU (Air-Sea Warfare Development Unit) before going into store in May 1970 with 5MU at Kemble as seen here. Re-entered service with 8 Sqdn as a crew trainer for their AEW.2s in August 1974, withdrawn in June 1979 and assigned to the RAF Museum at Cosford, but scrapped there in 1991

Delivered to the RAF as WL801 in 1953. To Cosford for use as a ground trainer in 1979 and allocated maintenance serial 8629M. Later to the RAF Museum and scrapped.

This Shackleton was one of the two MR.2s assigned to 8 Squadron for use as trainers for their Shackleton AEW.2 fleet. WL801 was retired to Cosford for instructional duties in June 1979.
