The Ceres is an agricultural conversion of the CAC Wirraway advance trainer. This aircraft was built in 1960 and initially registered VH-CEK. However it was almost immediately re-registered in the Super Spread Aviation 'block' as VH-SSY. It had a long career with various subsequent operators, spending time on and off the Register, until donated to the Drage Airworld Museum at Wangaratta in 1985. Currently airworthy and owned by Doug Hamilton.

Not obvious in the photo but VH-SSY had dayglo paint on the front of the engine cowling, top of the fin and rudder and the cockpit coaming.

VH-SSY sen here on the flight line again after another rebuild. It had been first registered in December 1960 and was still current in 2018 although its days as a cropduster were well behind it.
