Delivered to the USAAF as 44-9126 in 1945. Renamed to USAF in 1947. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB with park code CC205 in 1971. To Dross Metals in 1976. Registered as N9013V in 1978. To Pacific Air Freighters as VH-PAF in 1995 then to Historical Aircraft Restoration Society as VH-EAY in 2008.

Before the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society got their hands on the, at the time, only DC-4 on the Australian civil aircraft register VH-PAF had been put in open storage at Archerfield.

In August 1996 Essendon Airport held an Open Day to celebrate its 75th anniversary. One of the aircraft present was the only DC-4 (C-54) still flying in Australia at the time. Delivered to USAAF in 1945 as 44-9126, & not put into storage at Davis Monthan till 1971. Sold in 1975 & reg N9013V, passing through numerous owners. Arrived Australia in June 1995 & re-reg VH-PAF 31 January 1996. Donated to HARS June 2008 & re-reg VH-EAY 23 June 2008. Under long-term rebuild to fly.
