The nearest aircraft was destroyed in an Israeli attack on Beirut airport on June 6th, 1982. This location was well used by aircraft enthusiasts in the morning and evening when the wonderful Queen's Building was closed. In the background many Pan Am Boeing 747s as well as those from Air India and Qantas and British Airways can be seen. The days of the magnificent VC10s were numbered with 9G-ABO and only one of British Airways visible.
