D-ABCE was hijacked on 13th October 1977 by four militants of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine while en route from Palma de Mallorca to Frankfurt am Main. The hijackers diverted the flight to several locations before ending in Mogadishu, Somalia, where the crisis concluded in the early morning of 18th October 1977 when West German counter-terrorism unit GSG 9 and the Somali Armed Forces stormed the aircraft, rescuing all 87 passengers and four crew members. Delivered to Lufthansa as D-ABCE in 1970. Involved in a hijacking at Mogadishu in 1977. To Presidential Airways as N302XV in 1985, Air Charter as F-GFVJ in 1988, Transmile as 9M-PMQ in 1995 and TAF Linhas Aereas as PT-MTB in 2002. To the Dornier Museum in Friedrichshafen for preservation in in 2017.
