This Bristol Freighter did some serious world traveling during 50 years of service. The Royal New Zealand Air Force from 1952 -77, based it in Singapore and Vietnam as well as New Zealand. Flown to England in August 1982 to operate the first service by Instone Air Line as G-AMLK. It returned to New Zealand in 1984 for Hercules Airlines as ZK-EPD. Trans Provincial Airlines bought it in 1987 as C-GYQS. After bankruptcy in 1993, employees formed Hawkair to continue. Stored in 1999 as mining projects providing work in Bronson Creek ended, it was acquired by the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in 2004.

Its final flight (to Wetaskiwin) was 6 Sep 2004. Total Time: 17,174 hours and 21,885 cycles.

Preserved at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum, after more than 50 years of service. Arrived here on Sep 6, 2004, after what became the last flight of a Bristol 170 ever.

This rare Freighter was flown from Terrace, BC to Wetaskiwin, AB on 6 Sep 2004 on delivery to the museum. This was the last flight of a Bristol Freighter worldwide.
