Built in 1932 as one of 3 Gipsy-powered racers and registered G-ABWH. Raced in the 1932 King's Cup air race. Shipped to the USA in 1933 where it raced at Cleveland as NC27K. Returned to the UK in 1934, then to Australia and registered VH-ACG on 19 July 1939. Rebuilt over 16 years 1971-87 by doug Muir in Perth. Now with Roy Fox in Sydney & seen here at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia National Fly-in.

Designed by Royal Ar Force pilot Nicholas Comper, the little Swift was a fairly succesful single-seat sporting aircraft of which 45 examples were built in the early 1930s.

This classic aircraft, built in 1932 has been cancelled from the UK register with a certificate of airworthiness expiring as long ago as 1984. I wonder what has become of it ?

The CAA register shows that this rare type, built in 1932, was permanently withdrawn from use in 1999

Seen at a Flying For Fun fly-in, the forerunner of the PFA Rally. The slide has faded but has been retrieved using photoshop. This could only be the early 1970s - note the long-haired spectator, the flaired trousers and the Mini car ! The aircraft is now preserved as part of the Shuttleworth Collection.
