One of the founding aircraft of Tony Osborne's British Historic Aircraft Museum. Arrived from Elstree on 19 March 1967. Sadly, this museum came to nought but was resurrected as the Historic Aircraft Museum (Southend) in 1972. By that time NP339/G-AOBW had been vandalised and it was scrapped in 1970. It donated its outer wings to G-ANZJ. This rear fuselage section survived for a time and is seen here displayed in the museum in September 1973.

On 19 March 1967 this aircraft had been towed to Southend by road from Stanmore, Middlesex, where it had been standing in a garden for some years. In the course of the BHAM converting it back to its military scheme as NP339, Aviation Traders (Engineering) Ltd. allowed the use of part of their hangar for the paint work, during which it was daubed with the false AT(E)L Class B marking G-41-4.

One of the founding aircraft of Tony Osborne's British Historic Aircraft Museum. Arrived from Elstree, I believe, 10 days prior to this photo, on 19 March 1967. A group of young and enthusiastic volunteers are busy exposing the RAF markings. Sadly, this museum came to nought but was resurrected as the Historic Aircraft Museum (Southend) in 1972.
