The USAFE accepted by Nov'85 18x C-23A Sherpas, all assigned to the 10th Military Airlift Squadron, Zweibrücken (Germany), known by call sign "Pockey". After the end of the Cold War, US EUCOM reduced its footprint and the 10th MAS was deactivated. 8x C-23As were handed over to the US Army. This 84-0467 was amongst these and served the Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal (AL). Later-on it was passed on to the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate Flight Activity at NAS Lakehurst (NJ). It was withdrawn in 2013. Former US Navy BuNo 157049 was stored at AMARC since 24 August 1993 with inventory code 2T0225. The Buckeye was selected for sale by Greece and left the storage depot on 26 May 2001. Inititally planned for spare parts to keep the T-2 fleet of the Hellenic Air Force alive, 157049 was apparently good enough and was made airworthy again by Hellenic Aerospace Industries (HAI) at Tanagra. It was then assigned to 120 PEA at Kalamata. The Buckeye was withdrawn from use in early 2018.
