The USAFE accepted by Nov'85 18x C-23A Sherpas, all assigned to the 10th Military Airlift Squadron, Zweibrücken (Germany), known by call sign "Pockey". After the end of the Cold War, US EUCOM reduced its footprint and the 10th MAS was deactivated. 8x C-23As were handed over to the US Army. This 84-0467 was amongst these and served the Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal (AL). Later-on it was passed on to the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate Flight Activity at NAS Lakehurst (NJ). It was withdrawn in 2013. Scrapped by Red Bank Recycling & Auto Wreckers company (NJ) by late 2021. This photo is copyright © Stephan de Bruijn, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
