After military service, this Albatros initially went to South Africa where it was registered in the experimental block as ZU-BZA in October 1999. In 2002 it came to Australia, initially being based in Perth, and was re-registered VH-LQT on 2 August that year. Early the following year, on 2 January 2003, it was re-registered VH-HOT. This lasted until 12 June 2007 when it was re-registered again as VH-IOT. Seen here at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in.

This aircraft presented something of a mystery! Sister-ship VH-YKO was damaged in an accident at Archerfield on 22 Nov 2006. Because the aircraft are used for warbird adventure flights and all the publicity brochures showed VH-YKO, replacement VH-YRO was painted in identical markings, even down to the 'bullet holes' and VH-YKO's cn on the fin! This aircraft was first registered in Australia on 11 July 2006. Incidentally, the fuselage code is the owner's initials.

The regional airport of Mildura, looking north-east. The edge of town can be seen at the top of the frame. The main Runway 09/27 is 1830 m and the cross-strip 18/36 is 1139 m. During the war Mildura was a big RAAF base. Today it has regular services by Dash 8 and SAAB 340, among others.

All is not as it seems! This Tiger is a rebuild whose original identity was A17-322, brought on RAAF charge on 14 April 1941. Sold in June 1946, it became VH-AYX. Retired at Alice Springs in December 1965. Rebuilt at Luskintyre and re-registered VH-UTD on 15 December 1995, painted to represent the original VH-UTD which was the first Tiger Moth imported into Australia for the Newcastle Aero Club in June 1935, and named 'Halcyon'.

The Luton Minor has its origins in the 1930s and was one of the foundations of the homebuilt movement in post-War Britain. This one was built in NSW between 1965-95 and is currently based at Locksley, Vic, from where it regularly flies all over the Australian eastern seaboard. It's powered by a VW and has an endurance of about 5 hours (range 300 NM).

This 1976 Lear 35 was originally registered in the USA as N199CJ to Corporationrate Jets. Converted as an electronic warfare simulator in 1995/96 and based in Naples, Italy. It was acquired by Maritime Sales and Leasing in 2000 and re-registered N99FN. It was in Australia by early 2001 operating under it's US registration on an RAN Fleet Support contract. On 28 July 2005 it was registered in Australia as VH-ESW.

I did my PPL training in this lovely aeroplane back in the early '90s. It was an absolute delight to fly, with 180hp, inverted fuel system, a constant-speed prop and spade ailerons. In fact, some of my wedding photos are taken beside this aircraft! Built in 1979 and registered, probably new, on 28 March 1980. It's obviously awaiting a new engine at the moment.
