Former (boring grey) Swiss Air Force F-5E with serial J-3011 was delivered to the US by May 2014. The Tiger was converted to F-5N and started its adversary careeer with the US Marine Corps with VMFT-401 as LS-06. It was transferred to the US Navy late 2006, early 2007 as AF-25 with VFC-13, was recoded AF-16 late 2008 and again recoded AF-02 (as pictured) in late 2009. As AF-02 it received this striking colour scheme (named Banana and the Afghan) in 2015. Early 2021, it returned to the USMC with VMFAT-401 as LS-09 and later became LS-01 in a blue/grey colourscheme

Displaying two modex, 100 and 101, this F/A-18F was stored at the flightline of NAS Fallon

A F/A-18E Lot 35 from FY2011, visiting Fallon from homebase NAS Atsugi (Japan) for its work-ups with Japan based Carrier Air Wing FIVE.

No markings on this legacy fiscal year 1984 Hornet. The aircraft was deliverd to the US Navy in 1989. It was assigned to the NSAWC with modex 42 in 2007, was overhauled in 2011, returned as 42 to the NSAWC that became NAWDC in 2015. The Hornet was moved to VFA-204 in a grey/grey adversary scheme in 2016. Stored with the 309th AMARG since 30 May 2018.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWDC) was just renamed from Naval Strike and Air Warfare Centre (NSAWC) and the centres aircraft were carrying a mix of designations, this 164033 was already carrying the new abbrivation of the tail, but F/A-18F 165805/104 on the right hand side was not re-abrrivated :-) yet.

Former Swiss Air Force serial J-3061 was delivered by May 2004. It is one of three Franken-Tigers, composite aircraft from old US aircraft (cockpit and tail) and Swiss AF aircraft (Centre section).. The aircraft was rolled-out on 23 April 2008 at Northrop Grumman's plant St. Augustine (FL), all white c/s with red and black cheatline. The Franbken Tiger made its maiden flight on 25 November 2008 and was delivered to VMFT-401 "Snipers" on 9 December 2008. Anyone an idea which Tigers were used to complete this aircraft?

This 1976 YF-18A is the 6th McDonnell Douglas built single seat prototype and was delivered to the US Navy on 31 Jan'80 with code 6 to the Naval Air Test Center, NAS Patuxent River (MD). It served the NATC up to 22 Oct'84 when it was transferred to NASA. Initially it carried its BuNo and "NASA 840", in 1985 it received registration N840NA. The Hornet was used from 1987-1996 as a High Alpha Research Vehicle with thrust-vectoring vanes, research flight control system and forward fuselage strakes. Since 2003 it is preserved at the Virginia Air & Space, Hampton (VA). Here pictured at Dryden FRC.

34001212081 "80" yellow has manufacturer date 16 Oct'85. The c/n was to be 34001212059 initially, but it was changed to 34001212081. It served the Soviet and Russian air force was modified to Mi-26PK in 1999 for 'flying crane' duties, featuring a gondola for the cargo hook operator on the side of the fuselage, next to the cabin door. It was reconverted back to Mi-26 and last seen operational in 2013. Preserved in the Patriot park at Kubinka from possible mid-2016 onwards.

To commemorate the last year of operation of the F-14 Tomcat, 164601 was painted in retro colours and did several display flights during the 2005 Oceana Air Show. Two days after the show, on 20 September 2005, the Tomcat was flown to Merced Castle Air Force Base (CA) to join the collection of the Castle Air Museum. 164601 was delivered to the US Navy on 17 April 1992.
