Operated by Qantas in Papua New Guinea on behalf of Australian Petroleum Co. Sold to Amphibious Airways in New Zealand as ZK-AVM. Delivered by ship after undercarriage collapsed at Bankstown airport, Sydney, on November 2, 1950.

Only two weeks before this photo was taken, on 26 May 2006, this nice Widgeon landed on a lake near Willow, AK with extended landing gear. It immediately nosed over and sustained significant damage to nose and cockpit. It was salvaged and trucked to the airstrip at Willow, AK, and it is seen here with the damage hidden under a tarpaulin and the registration taped over. Later in 2006 it was dismantled and trucked to Victoria, BC, Canada for repairs by Victoria Air Maintenance. With the repairs completed, N141R was flown back to its owner in Alaska on 17 Feb 2009, still in Royal Navy markings.

CF-KKF was sold in the US as N13122 in 1967. Note that the aircraft is fitted with Lycoming engines.

Taxiing in to West Mallings last airshow before being turned into a housing estate, this Widgeon is a very welcome visitor.

In Navy and Coast Guard service the Widgeon flew utility, SAR and antisubmarine missions. On 1st August 1942 in the Gulf of Mexico this aircraft attacked and damaged the German submarine U-171. Now on display at the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola.

1945-built Widgeon.

This Widgeon entered service with the Navy in Sept. 1943 until her handover in 1948 for seaplane hull design testing. During this time she acquired the name 'Petulant Porpoise' and became the last Widgeon to be retired from USN service in 1954. Subsequently traded between various museums, she arrived at the Pima Air & Space museum in 1987 for display.
