But the fuselage shows the 357th TFTS badge, part of the 355th Tactical Training Wing which is shown with additional marks on the tail. This fine A-10A, based at England AFB (LA), was a very welcome visitor to the RIAT 1989. The aircraft was delivered to the USAF in 1984 and direct assigned to the 81st TFW at Bentwaters/Woodbridge (UK). It returned to CONUS in 1989 and was assigned to thes 76th TFS, part of the AFRes and based at England. Great to see the aircraft back on UK soil during the RIAT with another tailcode. Following the 76th, it served the 75th FS at Moody AFB (GA) with tailcode FT from late 1992. It was moved for storage to AMARG on 31 January 2024.

Head on, going for the runway at homebase Neuburg. FMS serial 72-1243 first flew on 18 August 1975 and was delivered to Germany on 24 September 1975. It was assigned to JBG36 and flew later with JG72 (and damaged at Neuburg (engine explosion) during take-off, but it was luckily rebuilt) up to May 1993, JG74 up to July 1997, JG73 up to August 2001, JG 94 up to January 2008 and again JG71 up to June 2013. It was scrapped at Jever (Germany) by July 2013.

Israel purchased an incredible number of 217 A-4s, plus another 46 that were transferred from US units in Operation Nickel Grass to compensate for large losses during the Yom Kippur War. The extended tailpipe was an Israeli modification. On 13 December 2015, all remaining IAF Skyhawks were retired from service. This 715 (former BuNO 159552) was delivered to the IDF in 1974. The extended tailpipe was an Israeli modification, the aircraft was then designated as AjitM.

The extended tailpipe was an Israeli modification. On 13 December 2015, all remaining IAF Skyhawks were retired from service. Here 320 is turning to the runway of homebase Hatzerim after a training flight.
