After a long rebuilt this plane made its first flight on October 5th, 2000. It is owned by Harold Kindsvater and based at the former Castle AFB in California. Even the FAA registry denotes this aircraft as a Messerschmidt ME-109, however, it is clearly a Spanish built Hispano HA-1112. It is wearing nice German Winkel-Dreieck-Strich markings of Jagdgeschwader 27.

A very smart looking Bf-109, albeit a convincing full scale model, on static display at RIAT 2012. It was built by Michael Whiteley and is used by War & Peace Battle of Britain Experience as a travelling exhibit.

Oberfeldwebel Karl Hier of I/JG 76 had to land his Bf 109E at Wœrth, Alsace on 22 November 1939. It was test-flown by the French at Orléans - Bricy, then handed over to the RAF on 2 May 1940. In 1942 it was shipped to the USA for testing at Wright Field. Note the faux swastika painted on by the Americans - they liked to dress up captured aircraft and amazingly, even in this stage of the war it was apparently not a safety concern. Luftwaffe reenactment of Bf109 maintenance.

This aircraft is painted in very nice Luftwaffe colurs, displaying the "S" of the Jagdgeschwader JG26 'Schlageter', black letter on white shield. Concerning the origin of this aircraft there is some mystery whether it is an original built ME109 or an Hispano built HA.1112M-1-L.The engine exhaust pipes suggest a Merlin engine then a probable spanish origin

Was part of the Russell Aviation Group but sold and now registered to Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar Ltd as G-CIPB . Note the damage to the left wing caused when the aircraft hit a flag pole.
