"Angel of Okinawa" inside the hangar at Fantasy of Flight. Built in 1945, the aircraft was delivered to the USN as BuNo 97286. The F4U-4 was the last Corsair variant to see service in World War II. The armament was similar to the F4U-1D. It was powered by a 2,100 hp P&W R-2800-18W driving a thirteen-foot Hamilton Standard four blade propeller and featured a chin air scoop. This variant had a faster rate of climb and improved service ceiling. Corsairs earned their well-deserved sobriquet in the assault on Okinawa and defending USN's Fifth Fleet against tokko attacks by IJN's Fifth Air Fleet from Kyushu.

Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ from 1994. Left in 1997 and went to Jordan as 220 then to Pakistan as 14732 by 2014.

Delivered to USA as F-BNLE in 1968. Sold as N4768G in 1984. To Airborne Express as N803AX in 1986. Withdrawn from use at Wilmington, OH in 2001 and scrapped in 2002.

Delivered to Interior Airways as L-100 N9266R in 1968. Converted to an L100-20 in 1970. To Saturn Airways as N22ST in 1970 then to Southern Air Transport as N9266R in 1975. Reregistered as N521SJ in 1985. Destroyed when it struck a landmine while taxiing to the runway at Wau Airport, Sudan in 1991.
