Just to confuse matters, this is the second Pel-Air Metro to be registered VH-EEQ! This one was built in 1985 and registered N3119B to Wings West Airlines. In 1990 they re-registered it N347AE. In 1993 it was exported to Australia, being registered VH-SST on 5 April. It was re-registered VH-EEQ by Pel-Air in January 2002.

It was delivered to the RAAF in March 1974 and returned to the USA in September 1993 as part of a deal to remanufacture part of the RAAF Chinook fleet. It remained in the USA, now as a CH-47D, with the US Army, serial 93-931.

Registered new in Australia on 16 March 1967 with the Royal Aero Club of Western Australia's 'flagship' registration, it was involved in a mid-air collision on final at Jandakot on 8 January 1970. The aircraft was damaged but landed safely. Currently based at Coldstream.
