Assigned to the US Navy as J4F-2 Bu37764 in January 1945. Withdrawn from service in October 1946, registered NC91080 and converted by McKinnon-Hickman Co to a Super Widgeon in 1953. To N78RJ in February 1988 and N744G in September 1989. Owned by its current owner since 1997.

First registered NC86615 for pre-delivery flight testing by Grumman, this Widgeon was registered CF-EHD when delivered to Algoma Steel Ltd August 12, 1946. It was converted to a Super Widgeon by Link Aeronautical in 1951. The next twenty years it would go back and forth across the border as N75071 and N71Q, CF-WFM to N4018 by 1969. Sitting idle 1992 -2018 with a new owner reverting the registration to N71Q in 2014, the aircraft flew again in August 2018.

This Widgeon rolled off the production line in January 1947, but was stored until delivery in March 1948 to private owner. Registered N86641, the aircraft crashed landing on Lake St Clair in Michigan on May 19, 1953. Salvaged after it sank, the aircraft took to the air again in the mid 80s and was registered N86649 in 1987. The aircraft was modified to a Super Widgeon in 1988.

For a short time US Navy bu 37764 (1945_46), this Widgeon was sold via War Assets Administration in 1947 and shipped from Guam to San Diego for civil conversion and registered N91080 for West Virginia Pulp & Paper Co. Converted in 1953 by McKinnon-Hickman Co to a Super Widgeon, the present owner has owned the aircraft over twenty-five years.

Built as US Navy J4F-2 with serial 32944, this Widgeon came on the civil market as NC62002 in 1946. It was the first Super Widgeon conversion by McKinnon Enterprises in 1961. The aircraft was registered in Canada as CF-NHG in April 1961. Sold to the Usibelli Coal Mine in Alaska in 1983 as N4492N, it's current there at the time of uploading.

Grumman Widgeon production was continued by SCAN in France from 1948. The venture was not a success and 29 incomplete aircraft were shipped to the USA, where one was converted by Pacific Aircraft Engineering Co. (Sun Valley, CA) to PACE Gannet with Lycoming R-680-E3 engines. It is the aircraft seen here, carrying the "PACE Gannet" name on the nose. At least 15 others were similarly converted by Lee Mansdorf's Gannet Aircraft Inc (also in Sun Valley, CA), which were marketed as the Gannet Super Widgeon. This aircraft was serialled 120 in Portuguese naval service, so "128" as worn is a false identity.
