1968: TOS USAF and assigned to 6510th Test Wing Edwards Air Force Base, CA. 1978: Technical Training Command, Chanute AFB, Rantoul, IL, to be used as a ground instruction trainer. It was then redesignated as GA-7D. When Chanute closed in 1993, the plane was given to the city of Danville, IL, who turned it over to the local VFW post. It is now displayed at the SW corner of US 150 and Logan St.

Ca.1974: TOS USN as A-7C and assigned to Naval Air Warfare Center, NAS China Lake, CA. 1977: Navy Munitions Command. 1978: Converted to TA-7C. 1988: Attack Squadron 122 (VA-122), NAS Lemoore, CA. After 4/91: Naval Air Warfare Center. When it was retired it was taken under control of the Naval Aviation Museum. By 5/98: Loaned to the Old Olathe Naval Air Museum, Johnson County, KS airport. Upon the closing of the museum the plane was taken by the New Century Air Center and displayed across the street from the Army National Guard base.

It was then sent to Great Lakes Naval Station, IL, for use as an instructional airframe and then later preserved for display there. In 1998 it was given to the Waterford, WI, VFW.

Ca 1968: TOS USN and assigned to Attack Squadron 37 (VA-37), NAS Oceana, VA. 1973: VA-203, Cecil Field, FL. Ca.1980: Retired to NAS Memphis for use as a ground instruction trainer. Sometime over the next several years the plane was taken under the authority of the National Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola, FL. By 1994: Loaned to Black River Technology College for ground instruction at the Pocahontas, AR, airport. By 2004: Restored for static display and now displayed as a gate guardian at the Pocahontas airport.

ca.1967: TOS USN and assigned to Attack Squadron 125 (VA-125), NAS Lemoore, CA. By 1976: VA-203, NAS Cecil Field, FL. It was later assigned to the Naval Air Technical Training Center at Millington, TN before being placed in the Naval Aviation Museum loan program. It was loaned to Prairie Aviation Museum at Bloomington, IL, in 1991 but was not transported there until July 2000.

ca. 1980: TOS USMC, assigned to Marine Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 2 (VMAQ-2) at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. From ca.8/90 to ca.3/91: Deployed for combat in Operation Desert Storm. Changed squadrons at Whidbey 5 more times before 1987 (VA-145, VA-196, VA-128, VA-145, VA-196) when it was assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadrons 5 (VX-5) at China Lake for two years before being sent back to VA-196 at Whidbey. While with VA-196 the plane was deployed on the USS Independence for combat in Operation Desert Storm. It was finally acquired by the Naval Aviation Museum in May 1994.
