Photographer Massimo Pregnolato - March 1979 saw the whole of CVW-11 deploy onboard the USS America and take part in a Mediterranean cruise, something of an oddity for a west coast based air wing.

Carrier Air Wing TEN ('NM') was established in 1986 but due to budgets cuts the CVW was disestablished with most of its squadrons in 1988. It only made one cruise on board the USS Independence. 160126 was assigned to Sea Control Squadron (VS) 35 "Blue Wolves", a squadron that survived the cuts. VS-35 was last attached to CVW-14/NK when it was deactivated at NAS North Island (CA) on 31 Mar'05. Here a rare picture of a VS-35 Viking with that short-lived 'NM'-tailcode. Alameda saw all six S-3As of VS-35 for a fuel-stop on 9 Sep'87. 160126 was last used by VX-30 and retired in Feb'11, fate unknown
