Built early on by Piaggio and not by Focke-Wulf, this P.149 served in the Luftwaffe as AS-411, AC-411 and 9178. To D-EGIT in February 1975, but already written off on 10 May 1975. Restored and for a long time based in Hoogeveen in Holland, painted in the yellow colour scheme of Flugzeugführerschule S. Lost in a crash near that airfield on 4 August 2012.

This 'Pitschi', which should be an Italian-built example, is mounted on a roof at EDCB. A general aviation airfield in the Harz hills, Ballenstedt was used for paramilitary and military flying training in the Nazi era and has a wooden hangar built in 1942.

Note the concrete block to ensure that this plane doesn't go for an impromtu flight, even without a prop!

This aircraft is now preserved at Hermeskeil.
