The museum displays a large selection of military aircraft that used to be exhibited in an outdoor area that is now closed. Unfortunately, all of the aircraft are now positioned very close together, which is very challenging for photographers. In addition, over the years, a lot of material has fallen from the ceiling and accumulated on the exhibits.

After a repaint the first digit had disappeared. In 2009 I photographed this aircraft as 116837. At that time it wasn't marked as marine corps aircraft.

The identity of this Beaver is unknown, and the serial is almost certainly fake (no matching US Army serial 58-x600 or 55-8600 exists). One source claims it is ex 82073 (c/n 1406) of the Republic of Korea Army, but that aircraft is preserved in an army camp nearby, noted there in 2006, 2011 and 2018, whereas this "58600" was noted here in 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2018.

This Beaver operated with Harbour Air for a long time

Delivered to the US Army in 1958 as an L-20A, 57-6153. Retired to Davis Monthan AFB, AZ in 1972. Became N87722 with the Washoe County Civil Defence Disaster Agency, Reno, NV from 1977 until 1980. Briefly N3011. Imported to Canada later in 1980 as C-GMKG, serving with operators in British Columbia. Joined Rush Air at Campbell River in 1987, transferring to Island West Air in 2003. Re-exported to Las Vegas, NV as N770BS in 2005. Moved to Anchorage, AK in 2008 and was re-registered there as N907BR in 2011.

This Beaver was delivered to the US Army in May 1957 as 56-0379. After Army service, it was registered N57942 with the Civil Air Patrol in October 1976. The aircraft was exported to Canada in 1981 to become C-GPMV, but was never registered. Surmising from the aircraft's history at dhc-2.com, it was stored until sold as a project in 2021 to Arcus Aero who rebuilt it with updated modifications. It was registered N57XL in 2022. Note the USCAR shows the N57XL's cn as 1680. That was a military acquisition number dating back to military service. 1680 is a Turbo Beaver built in 1967 (cn 1680TB48).
