Air Madagascar - till 2012 a staunch Boeing customer as far as jetliners are concerned - wrote history when it started to operate this ex Air France A340 in April 2012, followed by sistership 5R-EAA (ex F-GLZT) two month later. The two planes were said to have been overpriced and linked with some safety and EASA certification issues, Air Madagascar continues to struggle financially up to this day. As a counter measure, this airframe has been registered in Island as TF-EAB (from March 2013) and Air Atlanta did operate it on behalf of Air Madagascar. Parked at the time of upload.

This dual seat F-15B was delivered to Israel second hand in 1992. Ex USAF serial / FY 73-0113. It was among a batch of 25 used F-15A's (20 planes) and F-15B's (5 planes) basically given to Israel for free, as a reward for Israel's restraint to keep itself out of the 1991 Gulf War, despite being attacked by Iraqi Scud misslies. "113" carries the emblem of the 133th Squadron based at Tel Nof AB and was part of the 2017 Blue Flag exercise. Apparently it was named 'Zeev Boded' in Hebrew, meaning 'Lone Wolf' in English.

This Mitsubishi built F-4EJ Kai / Phantom II of 301 Hikotai "Frogs" is seen here at dusk during last checks before launching into an early night flight at Nyutabaru. In June of 2016, the squadron moved to Hyakuri AB and was the last unit to operate the legendary Phantom. On behalf of the US Government, the USAF operates a handful of Hurons for diplomatic duties. Those aircraft are assigned to various US Embassies around the world and are used to transport officials around in the corresponding regions. This Huron was assigned to the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya when this picture was taken and got grounded in Madagascar during an offical visit due to one of it's engines producing metal chips.

This Cessna 206 was based at Maun, Botswana at the time this picture was taken. However, it has been chartered by the Government of Madagascar for seismic surveys throughout the "red" island, hence the two wingtip-mounted pods carrying the corresponding sensors to do so. FUGRO was another company hired to conduct seismic surveys in 2003 and 2004.

The size, dimensions and flight characteristics of the C-2 are comparable to the Airbus A400M. The first of two prototypes (08-1201 & 18-1202 respectively) had its maiden flight in January 2010 and the first production unit (68-1203) was delivered to the Air Development and Test Wing at Gifu AB at the end of June 2016. In March 2017, that very airplane entered service with Hikotai 403 at Miho base and at the time of upload, the squadron has at least 7 units on hand.

The Swiss AF ordered 26 single seat and 8 dual seat F-18C/D Hornets, which were delivered between 1996 and 1999. The first unit of each version was produced by McDonnell Douglas in the US, while the rest was assembled at the "Eidgenössisches Flugzeugwerk" (now RUAG Space) at Emmen AB. The Hornets are used - among other duties - for air policing and as such carry the radio frequency on the external center fuel tank, so that intercepted aircraft can contact the Hornet crew. On this picture taken on cold Winter day, the snow on the ground lights up the fuselage nicely.

This Freedom Fighters sits abandoned in one of the typical Vietnam war style shelters at Korat Air Base during exercise "Cope Tiger 2004". Korat RTAB was built and extensively used by the USAF during the Vietnam war. This particular airframe was delivered to Thailand under the Military Assistance Program (MAP) in April of 1967 and has had the following codes applied: "1312", "10312", "23121", "71141" and finally "70141". It was last based in Surat Thani in southern Thailand, hence the additional SRT code. Apparently, it went to Nakhon Nayok in 2006 with its original code "1312" re-applied.
