This '87 Mi-8 was delivered to the Russian Air Force as 82 yellow and operated from Chkalovski air base. The Mi-8 was most probably transferred to the Polish Air Force by late '03, early '04 in an all-grey c/s. The MT as reported with Polish 'szachownica', acquired for Special op in Afghanistan. It was then donated by the UK in all-grey c/s without titles after an overhaul by Helisota at Kaunas-Gamykla (Lithuania). It was first reported with the Afghan MoI by November 2004. By July 2012 it was reported as 311 with the Special Mission Wing. The construction number is still unconfirmed.

This An-22 supported the Afghan Air Force with deliveries of Mi-24s and L-39s during late 2005. The aircraft was flown by crew of the Russian Air Force, 308.ARP/61.VA/12.VTAD. After take-off, the aircraft made a corkscrew departure over the airport to decrease the chance of being hit by enemy air defense. After it gained enough altitude, it disappeared from our sight.

This is possibly YA-TAE. The fully unmarked light grey helicopter flew missions in support of the Afghan Security Forces as well as the Afghan government, but I do not exclude it was also used by secretive US agencies, as this helicopter was often seen on that platform.

This is possibly YA-TAE. The fully unmarked light grey helicopter flew missions in support of the Afghan Security Forces as well as the Afghan government, but I do not exclude it was also used by secretive US agencies, as this helicopter was often seen on that platform.

This L-39C 0023 was delivered together with a Mi-24V to Kabul by An-22A RA-09342 by late November 2005. The trainer / light attack fighter and helicopter were assembled in a dusty hangar at the Afghan military part of the airport.

This is YA-TAD. The fully unmarked bluish grey helicopter flew missions in support of the Afghan Security Forces as well as the Afghan government, but I do not exclude it was also used by secretive US agencies, as this helicopter was often seen on that platform. The registration was taken from a tube in the cockpit. YA-TAD was written off on 26 July 2006 on a flight from Kabul when it crashed in bad weather in mountains 35 km north-east of Khost, all sixteen crew and passengers were killed.

This Mi-24V was most probably delivered by An-22A RA-09342 on 25 November 2005. The attack helicopter got its rotorblades and being prepared for flight. Five days after its delivery, it was seen unmarked at the Afghan National Army - Air Corps (ANA-AC) platform, surrounded by Russian and Afghan technicians. The construction number was seen on the vertical parts of the wings as well as on the fuselage. This 520865 would received ANA-AC serial 89 in a few days.
