Like so many of the aircraft in the outdoor storage area, this Herc's paintwork is suffering badly from weathering. While on loan to the Naval Air Test Center from VR-1, in October and November 1963 it made history by making 21 full-stop landings and unassisted take-offs on the USS Forrestal, so becoming the largest and heaviest aircraft to land on a carrier. At the time it was marked 'Look Ma, No Hook'. Transferred to the USMC at the end of 1963. Much later, saw action in Operations Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom

I was pleased to catch this as it was the first Delta 717 I'd photographed, and in a few days I'd be flying on a couple of them. N938AT was originally delivered to AirTran in 2006 and joined Delta in 2014 after the former's closure

This was the fifth prototype Tomcat, used to demonstrate systems compatibility, spending its entire operational career from 1971 as a flight testing aircraft, evaluating different systems and configurations under the control of Grumman. In 1974 it joined the PMTC for weapons system integration work and in 1990 became the first F-14 to go on public display, initially painted in VF-21 marks

This is a new airport opened in 2010 to serve the Panama City area, the first built in the US since 9/11. The IATA code TFB was sought for 'The Florida Beaches' but this was already in use. Instead ECP was selected and is claimed to stand for 'Emerald Coast of the Panhandle'

Originally built in 1972 as a Learjet 25, this is one of only five later classified as a Learjet 28 by virtue of the new wing design and winglets apparently added in 1977. Originally intended as a tested for the Learjet 55, the modifications demonstrated excellent climb performance but were ultimately unsuccessful as the winglets meant deletion of the tip-tanks and therefore reduced range. Still shows in records as a Learjet 25
