Note the long "radar nose" which was installed with both VH-TVN & VH-TVM prior to the actual installation of weather radar. Also the fitting of "Slipper Tanks" to assist endurance over lengthy segments for which the basic aircraft wasn't capable of performing at the time. Scanned from a K64 slide at 4000DPI.

VH-TVL flew with Trans-Australian Airlines until August 1969 when it was placed in storage at Brisbane Airport. A ban on the export Viscount 700 aircraft resulted in it being sold in 1971 to the Toowoomba Aviation Museum at Wellcamp, on the edge of Toowoomba. The museum was more like an overgrown scrapyard in 1977 and in 1978 VH-TVL was sold to a Toowoomba scrap dealer. It survived in an ever-diminishing condition until it was moved to a caravan park at Miles, Queensland, in 2013. It has since been cleaned up, repainted and fitted with dummy wings and engines as a tourist attraction.

Withdrawn use in 1968 and scrapped two years later.

Sold for scrap in 1970

Australian Aircraft Sales traded in used airliners. Ex-TAA, VH-TVI was parked near the AAS office in the TAA hangars. Prevented from being resold due to air safety concerns, VH-TVI was broken up in 1970.

Operated by TAA from 1956 to 1968. It was later broken up.

Sold in Botswana as A2-ZEL. It was the only Viscount 700 series to escape the air safety order that saw all other surviving Australian V700s grounded permanently

Withdrawn from use in 1969. Fuselage at Possum Park, Miles, Queensland

Stored in the Essendon graveyard awaiting scrapping, which happened in 1970.
