Assigned to the Lift Training Center at Volk Field. The helicopter carried "ST" as a tailcode. The helicopter was built as a CH-53A with BuNo 154867, served the US Marine Corps some time and was retired in the early ninetees, was stored at Pensacola (FL), stricken from ithe inventory and moved to the USAF inventory as GCH-53A. Was an instructional airframe with the 82nd TRW and first reported at Volk Field in April 1997.

The a/c was delivered as an A-6A to the US Navy in 1962, it was converted to EA-6A in 1965 and was used by manufacturer Grumman with the Board of Inspection and Survey as a Trials Aircraft. From 1966 onwards it served as an operational with VMCJ-1, VMCJ-2, VMAQ-4, and possibly VAQ-33 and was then sent to be a target on the Harwood Bombing Range (WI). It was later moved to the LTC.

This Orlik trainer was supporting Team Orlik of the Polish Air Force during RIAT 2016, luckily in just its operational colour scheme, and no party colours like many other display teams. The PZL belings to the inventory of 4. Skrzydło Lotnictwa Szkolnego (4.SLSz) (Flying Training Wing - 4.SLSz) at Radom air base. 048 was manufactured in 2001 and converted to PZL130TC-II in 2012.
