This airframe was manufactured for the Italian Air Force as a standard A model and then taken back by Aermacchi to develop the more powerful B model. The aircraft wear also the Air Force Military Marking. The B model was not put in production because this airframe was furtherly developed as the updated digital MB339CD prototype.
