The real 49-1236 shot down a MiG-15 over Korea on 17 December 1950 (when operated by 334th FIS), and later was shot down itself by a MiG-15 near Sinanju, North Korea on 24 October 1951. Another fake 49-1236, in exactly the same markings and colours, is preserved in the USAF Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Oh. The real identity of the latter aircraft is known (49-1067). The identity of the aircraft in the Seoul War Memorial Museum is not known (afaik).

After it was wfu in 1986 (having flown with the 123rd FIS/OrANG), it was sent to Suwon for BDRT (in August 1986). Later it was put on display at the Seoul War Museum after it had been magnificently restored to its 1970 colourscheme. This picture was taken just after sunset.
