Delivered four days ago to Porter is their 8th E195-E2. It operated it's first revenue flight today into YVR but ended up cancelling on the outbound due to the storm system on the East Coast. Here it is getting towed to the South Pad for overnight parking.

Arriving this evening as "Porter (POE) 313" from Toronto. Nice to already see a 2nd daily service from them, with a 3rd coming for the Summer season.

Porter Airlines took delivery of its first five Embraer E195C-2 in late Dec. 2022 and flew them to Toronto for the launch of its first ever scheduled jet service, with routes launched to Ottawa and Montreal, and then Vancouver on Feb. 7th. Porter began operations on Oct. 23, 2006 from CYTZ with DHC Dash 8-400s with 29 acquired by 2017. Porter sought approval to operate CS100 jets jets from YTZ in 2013, but it did not receive government approval. Porter shut down for 18 months during Covid-19, but ordered 30 new E195-C2s in July 2021 and 20 more in July 2022 for a major expansion program.

Porter's inaugural flight from Toronto, arriving as "Porter (POE) 305" the other day. Fitting that they also used the first E2 to be delivered to Porter. From what I have heard, they plan to have 30 E2s by the end of the year. Great to see them here as I look forward to trying them out at some point!

The inaugural visit on the West Coast for Toronto based Porter Airlines, and their all new Embraer E195-E2 jets. These are not only Porter's first jet aircraft, but also the first Embraer E2s in North America! Arriving on a training flight as "Porter (POE) 9901".

Porter Airlines shutdown all flight operations for more than a year as a result of Covid-19 with most of its fleet of 29 Dash 8-400s parked on an inactive runway at CYTZ until operations resumed. Later this year, the airline will launch its first jet operations with a new fleet of 30 Embraer E195-E2s ordered in July 2021. All jet operations (except air ambulance flights) are banned from Toronto's downtown airport (CYTZ) so the E195-E2's must operate from CYYZ and other airports. The DHC-8-400 is seen flying over YTZ's historic 1939 terminal which was moved to allow new terminal construction.

The aircraft was photographed immediately after a ceremony and media event at Downsview marking the 300th Q400 delivery to Porter Airlines, with the aircraft wearing a commemorative 300th delivery decal on the side of the fuselage.
