Registered to East Anglian Flying Services 26th May 1954 for operation by its subsidiary, East Anglian Flying Club at Ipswich. It was withdrawn from use April 1971 and was stored dismantled at Ipswich with its C.of A. having expired 2nd Mar.1972 and was cancelled from the register 25rh Apr.1972 as PWFU. It was destroyed in a fire at Ipswich 4th Oct.1973. It was one of two Austers originally operated by the East Anglian Flying Club, the other being Auster 5 G-ANHZ. The club was later to acquire two Auster J-1 Autocrats, G-AIZY & G-AJUE, from the closure of the Southend Municipal Flying Centre.

Taken on charge by the RAF as NP176 10th Feb.1944. After military service it was bought by East Anglian Flying Services and registered to them as G-ANGM 23rd Nov.1953, for operation by its subsidiary, East Anglian Flying Club at Ipswich. After its C.of A.expired 25th Oct.1957 it was stored at Southend until taken to Ipswich by road in 1959. It was cancelled on 22nd Feb.1963 as PWFU and languished in a derelict condition at Ipswich for years until it was burnt late-August 1970 with the remaining parts (engine and undercarriage legs) being taken away by road on 4th Sept.1970.

East Anglian Flying Services/Channel Airways Dragon Rapides G-AEMH and G-AKRN (msn 6513) partially dismantled at Ipswich. Date on reverse says 1964. By March 1965 they were both fully dismantled in store in the "Tradair" hangar at Southend Airport.

Engine repairs?

Built as a Plus D-1 Auster Mk1 it was converted after the war to a Plus D.

This diminutive single-seater was based at the now closed Ipswich municipal aerodrome for several years in the late 1960s.

Ex RAF T6121. Painted black overall with dark red registration - which 'fooled' B&W films of the day - so the registration is only just readable here! This Tiger was withdrawn from use during 1960.
