This rarely-seen Texan was built for the USAAF but delivered to the USN as SNJ-5 Bu 84825 (X-A-N - get it?). It later went to the Spanish Ejercito del Aire as C.6-163, code 421-56. In 1992 it was registered in the USA as N29944 but crashed on take-off at Houston on 19 Sept of that year. It came to Australia for rebuild and was first registered on 12 Feb 1991. Sold to Royal Aero Club of NSW, Bankstown, 18.5.56 as VH-RSC. Re-registered VH-BBC by Narrabri Aero Club in August 1959.
