Operationally this 727 was with Northwest Airlines (1965-78), Piedmont Airlines (1978-1982), United Technologies (1982-1984 as a flight test bed) and Key Airlines from 1984. Retired by Worldcorp Leasing in 1993, the airplane was stored at Mississippi and broken up by 1996. Historically significant as the 727 associated with the passenger known as D. B. Cooper and his 1971 $200,000 extortion of Northwest Airlines. After getting the ransom, Cooper escaped by jumping out of the airplane while in flight via the rear airstairs with the money and a parachute..... never to be heard from again.

Wheeler Airlines began as Wheeler Flying Service started by Piedmont Airlines pilot Warren H. Wheeler. This Beech 99 was operated from April 1977 to May 1985. The aircraft is still current on the US registry with Alpine Aviation at the time of uploading.

Pictured after arriving from London Gatwick. The marshaller has instructed the pilot to stop and cut the engines allowing the plane to be towed on to stand.

Pictured taxying out to return to either ORD or DFW (the MIA flight was a 738). There were great views out of the windows back then before the terminal refurbishment.

Potomac Pacemaker was with Piedmont from July 1968 to September 1979.

Former Viasa and Avensa DC-9 (YV-C-AVR) was acquired by Emerald in June 1983. Exported to Mexico as XA-SKA in 1994, it's stored at Mexico City at the time of uploading.

1973 vintage Skyvan had later registrations of N53NS, C-FPSQ and is currently N39LH.

The Potomac Pacemaker, delivered to Piedmont December 20, 1979, was registered N231US after the merger with US Air in 1989. Transferred to Metrojet November 1999, it stayed with the US Airways subsidiary until they were shut down in September 2001. Sold to Aviacsa Airlines in Mexico in April 2002 and put into storage.
