Second RF-4C built. It was converted on the McDonnell assembly line from a USN F4H-1 to a YRF-110A Spectre, later redesignated a RF-4C. Used for development testing of GE J79 engines. Transferred to Chanute AFB as a ground instructional airframe June 1978 and redesignated GRF-4C. Transferred to the Octave Chanute Museum in the early 1990s when the base closed. When the museum closed in 2015 it was transferred to the Regional Military Museum in Houma, LA. where it is on display.

This was the seventh F-15A built. It was assigned to Edwards AFB from 1973 - 1980. In November 1980 it was assigned to Chanute AFB for use as a ground instructional airframe and redesignated a GF-15A. When the base closed it was transferred to the Octave Chanute Air Museum. The museum closed in 2015 and the a/c was relocated to the Saint Louis Science Center in Saint Louis, Missouri.

27 Jan 1970: TOS USAF and assigned to the 58th Fighter Training Wing, Luke AFB, TX. 8/71: 355th Tactical Fighter Wing, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. 7/76: Tinker AFB, OK. 2/77: Technical Training Center at Chanute AFB, IL for use as a ground instruction airframe for mechanics and redesignated GA-7D. Ca.1985: Refurbished and placed on display at a memorial park on the base. After the base closed this C-123 was on display there as part of the Octave Chanute Air Museum at least until 2002. Later the aircraft was donated to the SpringHill Summer Camp in Michigan where it currently resides as a sleep out for campers.

This slide was taken when Chanute AFB was still active. The a/c was being used as a ground instructional airframe. After the base closed this C-123 was on display there as part of the Octave Chanute Air Museum at least until 2002. Later the aircraft was donated to the SpringHill Summer Camp in Michigan where it currently resides as a sleep out for campers.

After Chanute AFB closed this a/c became part of the Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum located on the old base flight line. The museum closed in 2015 and 56-2009 did not find a new home and was scrapped in 2019.
