Being the former USAAF 42-93257 and RAF KG557, CC-129 12928 served for 29 years with the RCAF. It was decommissioned in June 1975, after its final operations with 429 Squadron at Winnipeg. It ended up in cold storage here, wearing the remains of its sprayed-on last civil registration, outside this view. Below the cabin windows, very faded "TRAINING COMMAND" titles can be seen.

The mishap occurred nearly 21 years before the photo date, when fuel starvation led to a crash landing just 0.5NM (some 900m) short of the Ft. Simpson runway.

One of the world's last DC-3 passenger cabins for scheduled service, a duty that PNR had been performing since Buffalo started it in August 1986. The service ended a few months after the photo date. One of the world's last DC-3 passenger cabins for scheduled service, a duty that PNR had been performing since Buffalo started it in August 1986. The service ended a few months after the photo date. Being able to examine these aircraft inside and out is part of the completely free tours that Buffalo offers, as Joe finds it important to share his affection for them with as many people as possible.

As the guide explained, 'Joe traded this for one of his favourite cars, so it must be special'. Built in 1946, this Canuck has done a lot of private Canadian flying, including aerobatics, and has been equipped with wheels, floats and skis. It was registered to the Buffalo School of Aviation in March 2003. The day after this photo was added, Mikey McBryan posted a video on YouTube documenting how this aircraft was brought back to flying status after 17 years!

As the guide explained, 'Joe traded this for one of his favourite cars, so it must be special'. Built in 1946, this Canuck has done a lot of private Canadian flying, including aerobatics, and has been equipped with wheels, floats and skis. It was registered to the Buffalo School of Aviation in March 2003. The day after this photo was added, Mikey McBryan posted a video on YouTube documenting how this aircraft was brought back to flying status after 17 years!
