My first ever bugsmasher flight was in this aircraft in 1988, with the Australian Air League at Camden, NSW (YSCN)

This Starlifter was orginally built as a C-141A and was the first to undergo conversion to a -141B, some 23.5 feet longer and can carry a 45 percent greater payload.

The BTD-1 Destroyer had excellent performance and was intended as the successor to the Helldiver. However, the type arrived too late to see any action in WWII with '4959' being the only survivor of the 30 (26 BTD-1s) built. This aircraft had long been in the Florence Air & Missile Museum collection and then moved to the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center, Elmira-Corning Regional Airport, Elmira, New York. It is currently undergoing restoration at the Hixson Flight Museum in Rome, Georgia. Alas much to my great disappointment she still had her winter tarps on as my visit was so early in the season.

This airworthy T-28B 'Banshee' is now part of the Hixson Museum of Flight and is pictured undergoing some maintenance prior to the start of the 2017 air show season.
