The F-86D / L all-weather interceptor was 75 per cent different from the F-86 day fighter, and was originally designated F-95. The Sabre Dog was still a single-seater, however, and the pilot's workload was high. Armament was a battery of unguided rockets.

This WWII multi-engine trainer is actually 43-31888, later N61808. Once owned by the Pima Air Museum, she came to the Travis Air Museum in 1985 and was put on display here in 1999 after a lengthy restoration. The real 42-71507 (c/n 4203) still exists in a museum in Hood River, Oregon.

Airspray bought this aircraft and converted it to an air tanker in June 1995 as they brought Electras into the fleet. First flight was on June 12, 1958 for General Motors, the Electra's engine manufacturer. Sold November 1961 to the LA Dodgers for team transport, it was traded to American Airlines in 1970 as part payment for a Boeing 720B replacement.
