The last time that I saw this plane was in the pouring rain at Fairford. Now it is enjoying the sunshine in the Leicestershire countryside after her retirement. It still carries the 40th anniversary markings.

During my previous visit to this wonderful museum this aircraft had it's night cap on and Buccaneer XX894 was uncovered. This time it was the other way around. This a/c is ex-Romanian AF but the marking appear to be imaginary (I'd be happy to be informed otheriwise if anyone has other info).

Bruntingthorpe isn't like any other musem, rather a large open, apron where mechanics fix/maintain/repaint/tinker with beautiful old aeroplanes. There was so much stuff/junk around this plane that only a record shot of the whole plane was possible. She has though acquired a new scheme and so I thought at least a tail shot may be of interest.

This aircraft was really XR541 in RAF service with 4 FTS at RAF Valley and then she became a ground instructional trainer at RAF St. Athan as 8602M. It was there where she was repainted and acquired this fictional serial. She has been rescued by Phoenix Aviation at Bruntingthorpe and will receive all the TLC that she deserves.

View of the Supper Guppy's cargo hold looking forward through to the cockpit. There are least two features worth pointing out. Firstly, the red demarcation line revealing where the hinged nose section will open and, secondly, through the open access hatch on the right one can see the original Stratocruiser nose section around which the huge, bulbous, cargo fuselage has been attached.
