This Tiger Moth was built for the RAAF and saw wartime service as A17-385. It was one of the earlier Tigers on the civil Register, becoming VH-AKE on Christmas Eve, 1946. In the 1950s it was on the strength of the Canberra Aero Club, but now resides in private hands in Kerang, Vic. It certainly got around in 2006, being photographed here at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's Auster Rally.

That Chinese Dragon has to be about the best nose-art around!

Based at Tyabb and owned by a well-known warbird restorer and operator, this Robbie is wokking away from the bowser after refuelling.

Built to a 1942 order for the USAAF as 42-99331, this aircraft evidently went to the China-Burma-India theatre of war as after the war it was civilianised in India as VT-CDL, one of about 100 such. Imported to Australia and beautifully restored, it was first registered as VH-NLR on 16 April 1999.

This homebuilt is really a much smaller aeroplane than it appears in this photo. Still, it's big enough for two people and camping gear!

Built in Australia as a Mirage IIIO(F) and delivered to the RAAF on 1 Aug 1966. Served with 75 Sqn at Butterworth, Malaysia, then 77 Sqn whose 'Grumpy Monkey' Korean Lion markings it presently wears. Retired with 4015 hours Oct 1987 to RAAF School of Technical Training, Wagga Wagga. Presently part of the Pacific Fighters Museum collection at Wangaratta.

Originally built as a Mk.1 with Gipsy Majors and registered VH-AZM in 1952. Re-registered VH-DRF in 1961 and in 1964 re-registered again in the RFDS series as VH-FDU. At some stage converted to Mk.3 standard with Lycoming O-360-A1As, which must have made a big improvement! In June 1967 to Fiji Airways as VP-PAF and converted to Mk.3B standard. Returned to Australia as VH-FDU in Dec 1972. Now privately owned, although it once again carries RFDS titles.

This aircraft came to Australia in the 1990 London-Sydney World Vintage Air Rally. It's presently owned by my good friends Colin and Jenny at Wentworth, NSW, and I had the very great pleasure of flying in it from Hughenden to Charters Towers whilst touring with the Airshows in the Outback in 2001.

The real wartime identity of this L-4A is 42-36509. After the war it was demobbed and registered in the Phillippines as PI-C120, later RP-C120.
