John Reffett bought this Flying Boxcar in April 1989. A failing engine resulted in an emergency landing at Port Lions, AK in July 1989, and the aircraft was abandoned there for many years. In 2002 it was restored to flying condition and flown to Palmer on 4 Nov 2002. It is seen here in storage with engine #1 missing and still fitted with a Westinghouse J34 jet pod.

Acquired by Bush Air Cargo more than a year earlier and operated by them, but titles not yet applied. Still has "44896" clearly visble on the fin (vertically), which indicates that this fin came from DC-3 NC44896 c/n 9665.

Customised 1928-built aircraft wearing "Johnny Livington Special" titling on its engine cowling.

Recently acquired by the Alaska Department of Forestry and carries their logo, but it had not been painted in their striking yellow colours yet.

No titles on this smokejumper plane, but it does carry Bighorn's nice colours and has their logo on the fin.

The Evangel 4500-300 was built by the Evangel Aircraft Corp of Orange City, IA from the late 1960s through the early 1970s. It is a STOL design intended for bush operations, notably for use by missionary aviation groups providing humanitarian services to remote locations in South America. Only eight were built, and a 9th airframe was never completed. The one seen here is the prototype c/n 001. It has "Golovin" written on the wingtip, referring to Golovin, AK where it once served. This aircraft has been an Alaska resident for many years, but it was registered to Jim Salazar from Pasadena, CA on 25 April 2018, and may by now have moved south.

Resident in Alaska since 1978. The auxiliary fuel tank under the fuselage and the winter vent system on the engine give this Beaver its somewhat unusual looks. This aircraft served with the Netherlands Air Force as S-1 from 1956 until 1974.

Built in 1960 by P.H.Poberezny. Exhibited in airworthy condition.

1931-built Pitcairn PCA-2 used by the Champion Spark Plug company pre-war in publicity flights.
