This aircraft left Berlin in June 1991 on a flight to Sydney to commemorate 100 years of manned flight, since Otto Lilienthal introduced the concept of wings for manned flight in 1891 (generally considered as the beginning of human flight). The aircraft crashed near Bayan, Lombok, Indonesia on 21 Sep 1991 after the engine failed whilst flying through a narrow valley.

A perfect line of the Chilean Airforce Aerobatic Team, 'Halcones' who put on a superb display at the International Air Tattoo. The serials of the other aircraft were, #2 c/n 2235, #3 c/n 2256, #4 c/n 2271 and #5 c/n 3013. None carried an actual FAC serial.

Built by Avro at Woodford in late 1953 as a Canberra B.2 bomber. Converted to T.4 and operated by the Royal Aircraft Establishment based at Thurleigh, Bedford.
