Formerly Eastern Air Lines N8603. One of three Air Spain DC-8s stored at Palma after the airline ceased operations in February 1975. Returned to Eastern circa 1976. It then went to Conner Airlines until broken up Miami in 1984.

Formerly with Iberia and transferred to Aviaco Oct 1971. Seen here still in the old brown and red livery Aviaco livery. Withdrawn from service Jan 1977. Sold to TAC Colombia as a source for spares. Broken up at Madrid Oct 1977.

It had last flown with Spantax (1966-1974) and was retired in 1974. Fully broken up circa 1978.

I had flown on it in the Canary Islands in Feb 1973. Seen here at Palma shortly before leaving for Miami where it underwent maintenance prior to delivery to Zantop International in Jul 1975 as N434TA. I was to see it and photograph it again again as N434TA with Zantop in Apr 1980 and again with Northern Air cargo in 1989.

Acquired in April 1973 ex Eastern Air Lines N8608. Air Spain ceased operations in January 1975 just after I had flown from Amsterdam to Las Palmas, via Tenerife North, with them (on a different aircraft EC-CAD). This aircraft later flew with Hamarein Air as A6-SHA and Bursa Hava Yollari as TC-JBV. It was stored for some time in Maastricht (NL) as TC-JBV before being broken up. The nose section was preserved and on display at the spectators roof area at Frankfurt am Main. The 2nd aircraft on this photo is EC-BXR.
