One of two Chipmunks based at Exeter with 4 AEF (the other one being WK576/B, in the background) used for Air Experience flying for the Air Training Corps. Sold in February 1972 to Canada as C-GBNI, and still active in RAF markings in the USA (South Carolina) as N198DD.

Operated by Exeter Aero Club jointly with Plymouth Aero Club, but based at Exeter. This is one of my favourite pictures from way back then, showing as it does Plymouth's old control tower and in the distance, Shaugh Prior and Dartmoor. This Auster is still about, based in Lincolnshire.

Operated for 10 years by Exeter Aero Club and Plymouth Aero Club jointly, but spent most (if not all) of its time during this period at Plymouth. It crashed at Enstone on 2 January 1976, and was rebuilt and sold to Australia in 1978. In 2014 it was undergoing restoration in Perth, Australia, as VH-UXB. It is seen here between the two hangars that lay just to the southwest of the public road, which continued northeast to cross one of the runways.

One of two Chipmunks based at Exeter with 4 AEF (the other one being WP872/A) used for Air Experience flying for the Air Training Corps. It ended its life as a "pax trainer" 8357M at 1206 Squadron Air Training Corps at Lichfield, Staffordshire, and was moved to Tettenhall Transport Heritage Centre in March 2014.
